Disclaimer
Read this before you use the tester, the software or the documentation.
No warranty
The hardware design, the software and the documentation are provided as they are. There is no warranty of any kind. There is no promise that they are correct, complete, safe or fit for any purpose.
No liability
The author and the contributors accept no responsibility for any damage, loss or injury. This includes damage to a cable, a module, a tester unit, a host computer or a power supply. It includes loss of data, loss of time and loss of revenue. It includes injury to a person. This applies to any use of the hardware, the software or the documentation. It also applies to any copy or adaptation of them.
Your due diligence
You are responsible for every use of this repository. Before you power a unit, read the safety page. Check the power source yourself. Check that a cable and its modules are within the power budget. Check the results of the tool against your own requirements before you accept or reject a cable. A verdict from this tool is a test result, not a certification.
The tester drives real signals into real modules. A wrong setting, a wrong power source or a damaged unit can destroy a module or a host port. Test on parts you can afford to lose until you trust your setup.
Third parties
Cable, module and part names belong to their owners. Nothing here is endorsed by, or affiliated with, any cable or module vendor, any standards body or any distributor.
Licenses
The software is under the MIT License (LICENSE). The documentation is under CC BY 4.0 (LICENSE-docs). Both licenses exclude warranty and liability in their own words. This page restates that in plain words.
